Study visit to Krakow University of Economics

On June 9-10, 2025 the Project members gathered in Krakow to exchange knowledge and experiences related to open innovation and collaborative practices in the tourism industry.
The first day began with a meeting with the Krakow Network initiative, a notable example of a collaborative innovation network within the city. The session was led by Małgorzata Przygórska-Skowron, Head of the Krakow Convention Bureau, and formally opened by Krakow’s President, Aleksander Miszalski. This interaction provided valuable insights into the network’s structure and operations. The Project members also introduced the Project itself and shared information about their respective destinations along with insights into how collaborative innovation networks function in those areas. The day concluded with an internal meeting focused on assessing the Project’s current progress, resolving ongoing issues, and planning for upcoming tasks and goals.
On the second day, a scientific seminar titled “Open Innovations in Tourism” was hosted by the Team from Department of Tourism at the Krakow University of Economics. The seminar focused on delivering lectures and transferring knowledge about open innovation and collaboration in tourism to colleagues and students of Tourism and Recreation. The event was officially opened by Professor Sławomir Śmiech, the University’s Vice Rector for Science. The Project partners presented findings from research conducted in their home regions, highlighting both innovations and the challenges faced in cooperation within the tourism market.
